HONOR
WEATHERALL
Currently studying for a masters of Architecture in New York, Honor’s style of watercolour painting is largely informed by the rules and logics of architectural design. For her, the process of drawing organic shapes, rationalising them with straight lines, and alternately painting colour into the negative spaces, brings forth a melody of colour, movement and depth. It is the activation of static objects through the playfulness of colour and lines that motivates her work.
Originally from Scotland, Honor started painting about two years ago as a means of relaxation and stress relief, which began as mindless doodling and has since evolved into what she is producing today: exploring the relationships between orthogonal/organic lines and colour, culminating in organised chaos.
