Molly Blunt is a London based artist who studied Fine Art Sculpture at Central St Martins. Molly is interested in re-presenting found images and the historical use and conventions of popular photography.

 

The source material comes from The Film Star Annuals of the 1950s which featured vibrantly coloured images of Hollywood movie idols while accompanying articles gave readers an insight into their idealised life styles. The playful juxtaposition of famous or long forgotten faces with domestic objects and backgrounds suggests a tension between gender roles and expectations and new narratives or possibilities.
