Kanica, 'Small Geometric Composition II' 2021

Laura Vargas Llanas is the creative force behind Kanica, a collection of bespoke and unique fibre pieces, influenced by the likes of Sonia Delaunay, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, the Bauhaus Movement and XXth century design and architecture. Each piece is individually handcrafted with natural and ethically sourced fibres, such as merino and alpaca wool, cotton and jute. The results are colourful and decorative works of art that embrace and revisit artisanal embroidery and weaving techniques with a design aesthetics.
