Sian Beck, 'Tropical Studies No. 9' 2024

Sian Beck (Née Tomlinson) is an artist based in Hastings, with a passion for colour, pattern and nature. Both her immediate environment and the natural world offer inspiration for her subject matter, while her unique marks and colour combinations come from a mix of observation and instinct.

From an early age Sian created relentlessly, making collages, painting, sculpting and sewing. Pursuing these interests she pursued a career in textile design, before picking up a paint brush in 2019 to take the leap into the unknown. Since having her daughters, Sian has discovered a renewed drive to pursue her personal creative work as both a link to her innate self, and in response to her young children’s exuberant energy and uninhibited freedom. Her style is constantly developing, bringing an honesty to each piece.
