Virginie Landais, 'Bad Seeds 1' 2023

Virginie Landais is a French artist based in Paris. She finds inspiration in music and poetry, from Emily Brontë and Emily Dickinson to Nick Cave and PJ Harvey. 
Influenced by the darkness of fairy tales and obsessed with the theme of lost childhood, her works are infused with a profound melancholy. The blurriness of her abstract « Secret Gardens », as she likes to call them, echoes the fading of memories and fantasies as time goes by. They are dream-like nods to the fleeting nature of the human experience.
